Please make a note of your Race Number and bring it with you to Registration together with proof of identity.

On-line substitution will close on the 31st March 2012 and no substitutions can be made on Race Day

The many hundreds of hours we spend verifying entries is critical to the safe running of the race - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE RACE USING ANOTHER RUNNER'S IDENTITY - impersonation will result in a ban for the impersonator and the original runner

Please read the Registration and Competitor Information below - an information desk will be in the main event marquee for any help you require on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to Yorkshire.

Competitor Information

• Read and be fully aware of the Three Peaks Race rules as covered in the Race Information and FRA ‘Rules for Competition’

• Make sure you have the required safety equipment with you at all times during the race. A random kit check will be carried immediately before the start and you may be required to show this at any point around the course!!

• Sections of the course will be flagged and taped with marshals at certain locations. On certain sections the route has been agreed to match agricultural and environmental needs, so where markers are provided, please follow them! Mandatory marked sections which must be followed include: the ascent and descent of Pen-y-Ghent, Whitber Hill and Sell Gill, Nether Lodge to the road, the ascent of Whernside and the ridge leaving Whernside summit, Ingleborough summit plateau and the section through the private garden before crossing the road to enter the finish field – we are allowed to use the private garden due to the kindness of the owners, non–competitors and spectators must NOT venture on to this private property.

• The special arrangements we have made for the use of certain parts of the route apply only on race day. At other times please keep to recognised paths. Where the route is not marked you will be responsible for navigation, however you must always behave SAFELY and responsibly, respect the highway and country code and local communities, use gates and stiles, do not alarm farm animals and PLEASE TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME. Some of the course paths are limestone which can be very slippery, please be wary on these sections.

• You will be required to electronically register at each main checkpoint. Have your dibber ready as you approach the checkpoint and be prepared to also show your race number.

• On road sections you must respect the Highway Code and please be aware of traffic. The road section from the track exit from Lodge Hall to Ribblehead (approximately 1.5km) will be coned and taped to provide a single file enclosed section which you must not leave and will be marshalled. Except for this section and the start all other road sections will be marshalled road crossings. In the event of difficulty with traffic, the marshals may have to stop competitors for a short time to allow traffic to flow – this will be a last resort - please be patient and understanding.

• Medical assistance will be available at the start/finish, Ribblehead, Hill Inn and Sulber Nick. At Ribblehead and Hill Inn checkpoints - if any competitor is assessed as being unfit to continue for medical reasons, the competitor will be withdrawn from the event

• The cut off times are Ribblehead 12.10 and Hill Inn 13.30 (or 2h 10m and 3h 30m respectively after the start), If you are outside these times you will be instructed to retire – Please respect the marshals decision.

• You can only retire voluntarily at the main valley checkpoints which are Ribblehead and Hill Inn, and at the finish. In the event of retiring you MUST inform the valley checkpoint leader and wait at the checkpoint to be transported back to the finish by the official race minibus – You are strongly advised not to make your own way to the finish. Once at the finish you MUST inform race control of your retirement.

• Competitors own drinks will be transported to Ribblehead and Hill Inn checkpoints. Please clearly mark your drink and place in one of the two labelled boxes provided near registration. If possible use a throwaway container (they can get lost)! Intermediate drink stations will be at High Birkwith (12km) and Sulber Nick (34km)

• At the finish you will be given your personal time printout. Only limited full printed results will be available on the day but full results will be available on Saturday evening or Sunday on the Sportident website www.sportident.co.uk or soon after on this website

• At registration you will receive a voucher to the value of £2 to buy refreshments at the pavilion near the top of the finish field and in the main marquee

• At Ribblehead and Hill Inn we have made special arrangements for spectator parking. At Ribblehead this will be free and on the spare land turning left just after passing under the railway bridge going towards Hill Inn from Ribblehead. Parking at Hill Inn will confirmed here shortly. Toilets will be available at both parking areas.
